La Caña and Primaflor Business Group sign an agreement to create products jointly

Grupo Empresarial La Caña and Primaflor have reached a collaboration agreement, mainly focused on the joint manufacture of pre-prepared and pre-cooked convenience food products.

This alliance will allow both companies to take advantage of the surpluses of the crops that each one of them leads and to produce new healthy foods, with the quality standards that they guarantee in their catalogues.

Characteristics of the agreement between Grupo Empresarial La Caña and Primaflor

The agreement between the two companies is based on the joint production of products such as guacamole, gazpacho, salmorejo or grated tomato, as well as the development of new healthy products, which will soon join the combined offer of both companies.

Caña Nature’s facilities in Escúzar (Granada) have been chosen in this agreement to carry out all the joint production work.

Specifically, the current V Range product references of the two companies will be produced here, as well as the new R&D&I projects or new product lines, which have not yet been confirmed.

The choice of Caña Nature for this important task is based on the fact that the brand’s new facilities have state-of-the-art equipment, especially prepared for the production and treatment of this type of vegetable-based products.

Furthermore, here it will be possible to take advantage of the high pressure cold pasteurisation technology (HPP), with which the products are subjected to 600 Mega Pascals, which is equivalent to 4 times the depth of the Mariana Trench.

This process destroys any possible pathogenic organisms and micro-organisms, thereby eliminating any risk associated with the product. Moreover, it increases the shelf life by 8 to 9 weeks, without affecting the product’s properties or taste in the slightest.

Shared commitment to the circular bioeconomy

The collaboration agreement between Grupo Empresarial La Caña and Primaflor is a shared commitment to the circular bioeconomy, which has among its specific objectives to take advantage of the surplus of its crops and expand the market with new foods that are healthy, tasty and suitable for the new lifestyles of consumers.

In addition to achieving these goals with the development of current products, they have also confirmed the future launch of a new range of products, which will be based on technological and gastronomic innovation, marketed under a common brand which has not yet been officially announced.

Primaflor specialises in leaf vegetables, sprouts and pre-prepared convenience salads, while the La Caña Group, in addition to the catalogue available from Caña Nature, also extends its production to cucumber, mango, custard apple, pepper and courgette.

Therefore, any of these fresh foods (or new ones if their cultivation is extended), can be the protagonists of future product launches, which will continue to maintain the natural and healthy criteria, which are already maintained in all the formats offered under the Caña Nature brand such as guacamole, gazpacho, salmorejo, grated tomato, mex sauce or avocado pulp.
