Tips for eating healthy at Christmas

At Caña Nature we hope you enjoy Christmas with family and friends in the way you like best.

At this time of year, group lunches and dinners are quite common, so it is the ideal time to enjoy delicious dishes and snacks with your loved ones.

However, as much as we love the culinary proposals for Christmas, it is important to maintain a healthy and balanced diet, especially when it comes to everything you put on the table.

That’s why we’d like to give you some tips for healthy Christmas snacking so that you can enjoy the festive season without your diet suffering.

When it comes to snacking, choose the right bread

We recommend putting some of Caña Nature’s fresh Guacamole in the centre of the table or our grated Tomato, both delicious options that you can spread on the base of your choice.

In fact, choosing a good bread base is important, not only for the combination of flavours, but also to try to make it healthier. In general, wholemeal bread is more recommendable, because of its high fibre, vitamin and mineral content.

Combine your canapés with seafood and fish

At the table you will probably have many options for creating your own canapés. When it comes to choosing, seafood is a recommendable option, due to its low calorie level and also for its incredible flavour.

We encourage you to try original combinations. Have you already enjoyed the fusion of flavours offered by a canapé with our Mex sauce and prawns?

Start your Christmas dinner in a healthy way

It’s normal to start your Christmas dinner with a variety of options for nibbles and finger food.

However, it is also a good idea to start with a delicious salsa. A healthy addition, which will please everyone at the table and will also satisfy your appetite enough to keep you from overindulging in the other dishes.

For example, you can start with a good recipe using our Gazpacho or our Salmorejo. Both options represent a starter full of flavour, which you can also prepare and present with all kinds of ingredients.

Make the most of the healthiest cheese

When we snack at Christmas, cheese is usually one of the main protagonists, and it comes in many different varieties.

Instead of eating it straight away, we recommend eating it on toast. It will satisfy your appetite and help you to have a more complete and nutritious snack.

For example, grab some bread toast that is available as a spread. Use our natural grated tomato to cover the whole base. Place a piece of cheese on top, preferably fresh cheese or as low-fat as possible. You can now try this irresistible mix of flavours!

Prioritise fruit, vegetables and greens when it comes to snacks

Christmas dinner and lunch tables are known for their variety of options when it comes to snacking. Trying everything is always advisable, both out of respect for the hosts and for personal enjoyment.

But when it comes to prioritising, put fruit, vegetables and greens first, which may reduce their presence in your usual diet these days.

At Caña Nature we make fresh products using natural ingredients such as top quality fruit and vegetables, which have been grown directly by our farmers.

This way we can offer you 100% natural recipes, without additives or preservatives (no E) and even gluten free.

Add our products to your gastronomic gatherings at Christmas and enjoy with all your guests a healthier and just as special holiday as ever.
