Functional Guacamoles Awarded by Covirán Foundation

Our variety of functional guacamoles has been awarded in the 1st Covirán Foundation Award. Thanks to the combination of fresh and natural ingredients such as peppers, the functionality of the food is achieved. By not including additives or preservatives, the nutritional value, antioxidants, etc. is reinforced, as well as providing an exquisite flavour. Natural, tasty and healthy is the variety of Caña Nature products. Products made with fresh fruit and vegetables grown by our farmers on the Costa Tropical of Granada. Gazpacho, salmorejo, grated tomato or the family of functional guacamoles make up the Caña Nature range. Made using a high-pressure process, we increase the shelf life and guarantee food safety.

The jury, made up of renowned professionals from the health, food and business sectors, selected the finalists from among the 28 candidates. Special consideration was given to the innovation of the proposals, the technology applied in their preparation, their nutritional and energy properties, format and commercial potential.

As the winner, Grupo La Caña had the pleasure of receiving an amount of 12,000 euros, and support for the commercialisation of the guacamoles in Covirán establishments, where they will be available for purchase in the near future.

The aim of the Covirán Foundation with this initiative is to encourage a healthy and balanced lifestyle together with research and innovation, therefore it was a condition to elaborate a product based on fruit and/or vegetables in order to participate.

The awards ceremony was held on 26th April at the headquarters of the Covirán Foundation, with the presence of numerous representatives from the political, business and academic sectors, partners of the cooperative group, as well as different experts from the world of food.
